Garcinia cambogia - Use | Side Effects
Garcinia cambogia is a dietary supplement that is used for slimming. Garcinia cambogia is a fruit that contains hydroxycitric acid (HCA) which works by speeding up metabolism and preventing fat accumulation in the body. Garcinia cambogia is a fruit that grows in the region of Southeast Asia and the tropical region and looks like a small pumpkin. This product also works by speeding up the process of fat burning and suppressing the appetite.
How does Garcinia cambogia work?
Garcinia cambogia and its active ingredient HCA works by blocking the enzyme adenosine triphosphate citrate lyase. This enzyme is involved in the synthesis of fatty acids, cholesterol, triglycerides and consequently, blocking this enzyme leads to decreased production of fat.
Research has shown that HCA increases serotonin levels in the blood (serotonin is also called "hormone of happiness"), which leads to a decrease in appetite. Some data indicates that this product also improves mood, but further research is needed to confirm this effect.
Garcinia cambogia is a well-researched preparation and there are thousands of research available on this product. Although some are suspicious, most of these studies have clearly and professionally researched this product. Almost all studies show that HCA lowers body weight, but different results were obtained in different studies. This is not surprising because the effect of each product depends on the individual characteristics of the body. Weight loss effects obtained in studies range from 4 to 12 pounds in 12 weeks.
In one study, there were 39 participants who were divided into two groups. The first group took a placebo (inactive pill) while the other group took Garcinia cambogia capsules. After 12 weeks, a significant difference in reducing visceral fat (fat that lies deep in the abdominal cavity) was observed. The group that took the Garcinia cambogia capsules had a significant reduction in visceral fat, while the group that took the placebo had no reduction of visceral fat. After 12 weeks, the subjects were followed for an additional month and no so-called rebound effect was recorded.1
In another study of 135 participants, there was no significant difference in weight loss and fat loss between the placebo group and the Garcinia cambogia group.2
So, as you can see, one study shows that Garcinia cambogia is beneficial for fat loss, and another shows quite the opposite. Which one do we believe?
There is one more study - meta-analysis (which is a most valid type of study) that considered all randomized clinical trials that were conducted on the Garcina cambogia extract. It showed that there are small differences in weight loss between the placebo group and Garcinia cambogia group, but notes that these results should be cautiously taken. If the study only considers the rigorous / serious studies, then Garcinia cambogia has no significant effect on weight loss. This study states that further, more rigorous and long-lasting research is necessary.3
Unfortunately, although there are thousands of studies regarding Garcinia cambogia, there is still not enough high-quality, serious and non-biased research on this topic, and at the moment, it is difficult to judge how effective this product is.
From this perspective, it is very likely that Garcinia cambogia has beneficial effects on weight loss, because its active ingredient HCA is well researched and there is no doubt that it reduces weight.
The only thing we do not agree is that while taking Garcinia cambogia capsules, you don't need to take care of your nutrition and physical activity. It is unrealistic to expect any pill can help you lose weight while you eat literally anything you want and as much as you want. There is no magic pill that will melt away pounds. Therefore, you should be aware that diet pills are intended to help you lose weight faster, but again everything will depend on you and on your diet habits. Try to limit your food intake and be physically active at least four times a week (a walk for half an hour will be enough). With such a lifestyle and the help of Garcinia cambogia capsules, you can lose weight up to 4-12 pounds in twelve weeks.
How to take Garcinia cambogia capsules
Take one capsule shortly before a meal. The maximum daily dose is three capsules. Never exceed the maximum daily dose, because larger doses can cause side effects.
It is recommended to take 2 to 3 capsules per day (mandatory one capsule before lunch and one before dinner).
Swallow the capsule with 1 cup of water. It is recommended that the time between meals should be 4-5 hours while you're on Garcinia cambogia therapy.
You need to change your diet and lifestyle, and remember that you can't eat all you wanted in unlimited amounts while taking Garcinia cambogia pills. Such a diet will certainly suppress the effect of Garcinia cambogia.
